How To Enjoy Your Deck All Year Round

Your deck might be the party central in summer, offering an excellent place for the barbecue and your stylish garden furniture. However, with the maintenance, brushing and staining required, you may feel that you do not get all of the benefits of your deck, and if you do use the decking area, it is usually for those rare, limited warm, sunny days in summer. However, your patio deck does not just have to be used for summer, with a few handy tips, you can ensure that you enjoy your deck all year round.

Top tips to get the most use out of your deck

Layer up

While it may not be warm, throughout the year, you can take advantage of the bright, clear, crisp days and maximise on the much-needed vitamin D from the sun. Of course, not every day is sunbathing weather, so make sure you and the deck are prepared. Use blankets, cushions and perhaps a rug underfoot to keep you cosy on the colder days.

With layers, you can still enjoy the deck after the sun goes down, consider DIY deck lighting ideas, such as LED deck lights so that you can curl up under a blanket and make the most of the fresh air and romantic starry night sky.

Make it cosy

If a chilly wind whips through your deck, then you may not enjoy spending time outside. With a windbreak, enclosed deck or canopy can help to protect your deck from a breeze. By installing a windbreak, you can help to keep your deck more habitable all year round and keep it a shade warmer in the colder months.

You can also increase the warmth on your deck with a stylish firepit or chimenea to increase the heat and make your deck the perfect evening location. Add some outdoor deck lighting, and you have a hassle-free space that is easy to set up and enjoy at a moment's notice. Do not worry about the safety of outdoor lights; solar deck lights and low voltage deck lighting are designed for outdoor use and are completely safe.

Decorate

Your decking area will be much more appealing if you decorate it to suit the seasons. During autumn you can use pumpkins for decoration and golden and red-leafed plants to make your deck feel warm and charming, consider themed deck string lighting ideas. In spring you can use sweet pastel colours and bright, pretty flowers to give your deck a fresh feel. In winter, opt for dramatic, feature lighting to give your deck a festive feel. The fake, flickering candles will create warming glow which will give your deck an inviting feeling.

Hi .
I went here last summer 2021 just after we moved to our forever home . Had an amazing time looking around and was really impressed with everything..
There was no rush or pushy sales person and having had a demonstration on how easy it was to install I walked away with numerous lights, cabling clips transformers and remote . Yes I spent a lot of money ,but worth every penny and going back this summer for the additional lighting to complement my garden .
